I have the NCCER from Han’s school and was able to obtain state licensure and it has not prevented me from doing any work thus far whether it is tree work or construction.
Is there a way to tell which size MCRS you have? I have a used one. My waist is 30 and I am on the second to last hole on the belt. Wondering if there is a smaller size or if this IS the small size. It is comfortable so I am not too worried about it. Just curious how you can tell the size...
Anybody have any experience with this? Especially when the neighbor is not on good terms? I figure I will knock on the door of the neighbor’s house and tell them what we are doing before I do it. Even though I know technically it is ok to do I don’t need any hassles.
I tried to do that one time when part of a tree fell in the road, I had 5 saws in my truck and a police officer was directing the traffic around the branch. When I got up there I told the officer I would gladly make the two cuts and move it out of the way. He would not allow me to do it because...
I always used cheap handsaws cause who wants to use a handsaw instead of your 201 right? I finally invested in a Silky and it is worth every penny. You definitely get what you pay for.
I agree with some of what you are saying but I think it is difficult to link ANSI pruning standards with actual capability of machines. When I say commercial that simply refers to doing tree work for hire which defines the difference between a business or homeowner use of the machine.
Obviously...
Winches on chippers can come in handy once in a while but it is way faster and easier to feed with a mini. Plus all winches are not the same. Some are so painfully slow they will make you want to drag brush.
My opinion is for commercial use I wouldn’t bother with less than a 12” chipper. Sure a 6” CAN chip 6” material but not well. It is maxed out at 6”. A 12” chipper will eat that stuff all day and more importantly has the power to suck in and crush wider brush so you don’t have to skinny it up...
Title says it all. Was installed on an F450. Not rusty. Fairly recently new pump and hoses installed. Power up power down. Comes with wired remote and enough power wire to run up to your under hood battery. Needs standard 4” taillights put in. I used them on another project.
In central NJ.

Nice job finishing it out and keeping your cool. It is too easy to try and take short cuts when you realize you are upside down on your bid. Thats when bad shit happens. All in all that is not a huge loss of time or money.
I did a big Norway Maple once in a tight spot between two houses with...
