9/16 Atlas for rig line 5/8 stable braid sling large ISC block. Rope blew apart at the porty and it wasn’t locked off. Opinions on this failure?
That's a pretty nice size white pine top. They get heavy. If I were climbing I sure wouldn't go that big on that species. Anyways, could have been a good little knick in the rope or what “therianclimber”said. Looks like groundie had it running okay right off the bat. A 5/8" rope and 3/4" sling would have probably been a better choice. Hope it came down safe!

Man, I thought it looked big, but then I watched the video. With a guy running it, that's something I would put on a 9/16ths line.
I have rigging similar size topps on spurs with Samson 9/16th stable braid 5/8th Yale multisling for ISC 5/8 small red block, Buckingham 111 portawrap with 18mm Yale multisling. No problems, but l pushed the envelope a bit l would say, l never rig that heavy when it's so easy and safer to climb higher and rig smaller.
