Compact Bulldog Bone

Getting some slippage on this rope at 200lbs with elongated bollard

Ok, I'm going to plug the Bulldog Bone : )
The Bone is about half the cost of some upstart multicenders, and about half a pound lighter.
It does SRT and MRT, midline. It is adjustable, and has an optional swivel integral to the device.
all parts are replaceable, and while everything gets gummed up by sap, by some testimonials,
it does better than many mechanicals, sap, wet, or dry.

You already have over 5,000 posts, in what Im guessing is perhaps the most popular treebuzz thread in its history. But you feel you need to plug it more ? Is that a joke ?

These 'upstart' devices have their place too. Everything has to start somewhere. Why not give them a little airtime and enthusiasm.

If what Gordon says about his device is false, then prove it. If you think that your device is better in some aspects then bump your thread and talk about it. I believe Gordon cares more about the quality and longevity of his product than most other multicender manufacturers out there. I can assure you that the BDB made this tread what it is and not the other way around.

Please show me where I suggested Gordon made a false statement? Show me. Thanks

And, I never made any reference or comparisons to my own endeavors

Reg, you came in to this thread and complained about Gordon bumping his own thread. Do you think that we are not going to read between the lines. You sound jealous of Gordon’s success.

My personal opinion for why Gordon bumped his thread (Gordon correct me if I am wrong) is that someone in a different thread on the buzz was showing some interest in the BDB. Gordon does not have his device for sale with any of the large arborist suppliers, so by bumping this thread he makes it easier for the interested party to contact him.

So much respect Reg, Love your creativity and persistence in bringing tree tools into the world- but this doesn't seem like a useful public discussion.

This is the BDB thread after all- Also, Gordon has posted enthusiasm for the new ART mechanical in the past couple of days.

I dont use the treehouse anymore, but If there's a demo device making the rounds we'd be happy to give it a go in Maine. Hope the rest of the development process goes well and hope you keep making cool shit

Ok. First off, with me there's no in-between the lines. Just read the lines. That's it. I ask simple, straight questions of things I don't understand and would like to know the answer to, in as few words as possible in the hope of getting back a straight answer. It saves a lot of time, and we move on. That's the way I am, for better or worse.

After perhaps a 10 year absent on TB Ive been keeping and eye on, and made a few comments on both the Blackbird and Throttle threads just recently. Those products interest me now. I then saw Gordon's self proclaimed bump of his own thread, which also included some undermining of these upstart devices, as he referred to them. I thought that was really strange put in context, so I asked why he said that, or if it was a joke that went over my head. I don't know anything about him, so it may well have been a joke. I know now that his name is Gordon, and that he makes the Bulldog bone climbing device. That's it.

He never did answer my question. He said something else. And from that small interaction you say Im Jealous of Gordon ls success ? That's like 2+2 = 20. I don't have a Jealous bone in my body. I wouldn't allow it. Jealously is for the weak, its pityful, which Im not.

Aside from that, I know nothing of him or his device. I tried to find out just before replying to you, but without reading the 5'000 posts here, Im still none the wiser. It's not in the stores, like you already mentioned. No website or nothing. So, when you speak of his success then Im totally in the dark, let alone Jealous, because I don't know how to measure it. Just ask a question in future, like I asked Gordon, and I asked you. Don't make assumptions or read between lines.

Caleb, I do use this forum to keep users up to date on any news regarding the Bulldog Bone, and to answers any questions. As you know, I have never advertised my device in any typical way, and from the get go this endeavor has been word or mouth. My post, which Reg questioned, was made tongue-in-cheek (with regard to the upstart word, with no malice) about these devices coming down the line. After looking at the pricing, weight and usage of those devices which offer that information, I decided to offer up a true and accurate reminder of the Bulldog Bone, No Joke.
I do realize that new readers may not know about the Bone or myself, never mind wading through 5000+ posts.

Say Caleb, I did hire Scott to take down those hazard trees and limbs. He is supposed to be out to my lot today.

Don't anymore go.crazy or get all protective. This question is for Gordon, to be clear. Ok, here goes.

Why is the device only available 'word of mouth', with no dealers, store, website, business name or obvious point of contact ?

I just wanna put it out there for Reg that most, if not all of us here are a bunch of gear junkies, and based on past discussions, there is a high likelihood that many of us will buy your device when it's ready, as we all appreciate good hardware, and we all know that you are a very thoughtful operator who doesn't do anything less than awesome. We have all been eagerly anticipating your devices release, and many of us will buy it right away because we know how much thought and consideration you will have put into it, and have high expectations.

It never hurts to have more than one ace in a hand.

Anyone intrigued by or interested in the Bulldog Bone will find their way to Gordon, there are breadcrumbs sprinkled throughout the arb webs. There is a genuine quality there that would be diminished if subjected to the watering-down of mass production. We underground Reg.
Thanks for the sprinkles, mate. But I'll respectly wait for Gordon to answer the very honest and simple question himself. He admittedly just bumped the thread to bring attention to his work, including those who didn't know about it. Clearly Im one of those people. So Im asking some easy, relevant questions now.

But while your here, you mentioned the watering down effect of mass production. I own many mass produced climbing products and accessories, and assume you do also. The closest item I have to Gordon's device is the Rope Runner, which is evidently mass produced. Knowing what I know about the process of how it's evolved to be where it is today, makes it all the more impressive to me. From a practical standpoint, I don't see how the performance with its mechanical framework and principle could actually be better, mass produced or not. So how and why would Gordon's device be watered down by mass production. Explain that to me. Thanks.

Thanks mate. My device is not a product as of yet. And I'll believe it only when I see it. I take absolutely nothing for granted. Anything can happen. I was urged earlier that I should bump my own thread about it. First off they are not my threads, I didn't start them, and it's not my style to bump things.
