Today....

How’s the Bandit 150 treating you @Treemuel ?
Very well, thanks. With the autofeed, it really has no problem maxing out the log diameter. But of course, hardwood that size is used for firewood around here anyway (except some of the poplar). Throws really nice chips too. Sometimes I wish it had the 360deg shoot, since I'm always blowing the chips on site and often in awkward positions or into thick woods. So occasionally I'll just jam a wedge in to hold the shoot between pin positions. I also picked up one of these Bevel Buddies http://www.precisionsharpeningdevices.com/bevelbuddy.html which has kept me from having to change the knives much yet.

@Treemuel , I dismantled a Popple as well today with my bud. A very tight spot where the trees stood and just enough room to setup. Also knocked out a small Elm and pushed back a Silver for new construction. Wrapped it all up with and ice cream social at my kids’ school. Black raspberry in my cup.

After stripping and topping this 36", 4-topped, dead doug-fir over the row of mailboxes, with dead limbs intertwined with live maple and another fir's limbs it was time for my employee to roll for the day. I took up my MS461 with a 28".

Laid them all where needed, off the asphalt (I rolled a couple pieces out into the road as a little barrier in case I had any bouncers).

Nylon slider rails for a few that I cut straight through instead of hinging (trunk leaned toward the street/ mailboxes).

Then went and saw my neighbor's newish calves.

For those sliders, I'm guessing you just push them in the kerf parallel to each other in the direction your pushing the piece? Sure is smaller and easier to handle than my little experiment, but I'd worry about dropping them...

Also, in regard to more C10 “content”… not sure if you knew there’s a thread going in the Crane Use section here on the Buzz. Simply titled ‘The Hoeflon C10’. There are a few fun pics and discussions in that thread.
