Chainsaw and handsaw left/right

I’m right handed BTW. Just curious where you carry your saws when climbing. Left/right inside leg you get my question. I’m carrying my handsaw on left leg handle butt forward and 194T kinda right rear hip. I’m thinking I need better/easier carry. What works for you?

I used to dangle my handsaw/scabbard on the left side of my saddle below and behind the side D (I’m right handed). I didn’t like the saw crossing near my bridge/climb line repeatedly throughout the day. I threaded my suspender straps through the little oblong eyes on the zubat scabbard to keep it laterally in place, zip ties keep it from creeping upwards. A little weird at first, and sometimes not as fast to stow, but the muscle memory has improved and deploying/stowing is not that bad. Its out of the way, and doesn’t flop around like it did before.

I hang my hand saw of my right upper D, and the chainsaw on a gear biner- about to try the swinger in that position- at my 3'o'clock. I keep all stowed soft goods on gear clips at my 8:30 & 9. Left upper D sees very little action.

Edit: right handed

Handsaw on the left leg, handle forward. Chainsaw usually on the forward left gear loop, hanging from the top handle on a recoil lanyard. Positioning lanyards on the right side. I have the same gear loop for my chainsaw in the same place on the right hip, so I frequently temporarily rack the saw there when my stance and task make it better to do so. I like having dominant hand access to my life support, and I like keeping my saws away from where my lanyard stows.

I should have included lanyard in the discussion. I have that issue with my lanyard. I like it on my dominant right and the sharp saw there concerns me.

My lanyard tail just dangles, and all of it lives on my right lower D. It's in play enough that I don't feel compelled to stow it.
The long lanyards/hookline live in bags and hang off the back; deployed as needed.

I’ve had a medical professional, a massage therapist, and yoga instructor comment unprompted on extreme offset of my body from right to left. I.e I can grab both hands behind my back from my right side but not even close on left side. Not much to be done there with chainsaw usage but as I’ve been returning to climbing I have been trying to switch sides of all my gear, as well as use left hand for handsaw more. I have a t.mo s.light and I clip handsaw into the little oval slot just behind the upper D’s. Sawpod on the leg felt too cumbersome in some positions for me back in the day and took a valuable minute on hot and cold days, maybe I will try again.

Right handed.

Handsaw ony right handle facing backwards. I put it there because I use it FAR more than a chainsaw. As it comes out, the back of the blade is what will graze a rope. On TreeMotion, carabiner on leg pad holding the saw.

Chainsaw on left. Shembiner just behind what would be center line of body front to back. The other end of the chainsaw lanyard is clipped to a piece of webbing that goes all the way across the back of the saddle so I can use it from either side without the lanyard wrapped (someone here gave me that idea... sorry don't recall who to give proper credit!).

Lanyard adjuster (ART Positioner) on left side D (I like the distribution of weight better than using lower D which puts weight same place as climbing line - obviously personal preference).

Right handed. Use to have handsaw outside right shin, wouldn't stay put, now about deadcentered side of right hip, chainsaw about 30 degrees back butt cheek right side, both lanyards left one D ring One bridge attach ring.

Saw right hip handle hang caritool, handsaw right side on s.light little oval slot mentioned above with micro biner. Caritool on left side is generally for rigging rope or block etc but also can rack saw if I switch hands or working horizontal on that side.

Left handed. Saws on right hip. Lanyard on left. Always separate sides. I think I learned that trick on here from Tom…
Same here, lefty. Saws on right, lanyard and Captain Hook on left. I keep the scabbard on my tophandle until I'm ready to use it. Prevents saw teeth from working on my gear while I'm climbing. Handsaws and chainsaws are all right-handed tools so on the right is where they go. Left hand gets to use them but it all starts on the right.
