Yea I think there’s no issue shipping to the great north…Tempted. Shipping to Canada?
Is it that much better than the 540? I've been tempted to buy one. I love the 540 but hate how much it binds. does the clutch take care of all that?Over the top great dealing with Reed. Loving the saw so much more than my previously preferred saw the T540i. Off to run it some more.
It’s my assumption from what others have said about the sawIs it that much better than the 540? I've been tempted to buy one. I love the 540 but hate how much it binds. does the clutch take care of all that?
Yes it is that much better. I had planned to not get one as I have 3 540s and can back off a bit after they bind. But then I ran a 542 at TreeStuff's western TreeTopia. It cuts so much more aggressively - can't really wrap my head around a clutch making that much difference. They must have juiced up the power supply to the motor as well.Is it that much better than the 540? I've been tempted to buy one. I second this completely!Yes it is that much better. I had planned to not get one as I have 3 540s and can back off a bit after they bind. But then I ran a 542 at TreeStuff's western TreeTopia. TreeStuff didn't have them to sell. Husky dealer wanted almost $800 just for the saw alone.
I don't think anyone "should" buy one. But any battery saw proponents should get ahold of one and try it with a sharp chain. Head and shoulders over the 540. It does go through batts quicker, is a little heavier.
Anyone in freezing temps may want the model with a G on the end - heated handlebar evidently.
I would say that I would have to work at getting this to bind. By torqueing into a cut purposely too much or feeding a 14 inch cut too swiftly. My 540 will bind fairly easily in even 6 inch wood.
