Yea this tree is producing some very nice lumber.. A reminder to stay on those tick checks folks. I just found out I have been reinfected with Lyme and Babesia, so now I get to look forward to a summer of treating these nasty little fuckers. Don't be a dumbass like me..

Homeowner cleanup. 4 trees 'cleaned up'...couple overly long limbs and hanger, a canopy raise, 2 deadwooded to 75'.
Sorry to hear it! Good reminder. I had Lyme twice in the last year even with diligent checks.Yea this tree is producing some very nice lumber..

Did 4 removals for him a few months ago, just cut to rounds and leave lay. A maple removal coming next and some more pruning trees for sunlight.Perfect job!

Meez like tulip popular.Simple, small, tulip poplar take down and haul away today. It was a beautiful tree, but was diseased, covered with and dripping black stickiness. Started with pole saw, then loaded trailer. Then climbed it, dropping branches and piecing down the stem. Very hot here in Eastern West Virginia. And of course I cut down all my shade.

After reading up on tuliptree scale, yes, all the symptoms and appearances fit. Thank you.Scale??
Couldn’t the tree be saved by applying an insecticide of some sort? After reading up on tuliptree scale, yes, all the symptoms and appearances fit. Thank you.
Possibly. Oil and insecticide treatments, I read. The homeowner had that information (from another arborist) but was sick of the honeydew and wanted it to go away. The fact that the house came with more trees and bushes than he wanted also played a part. My goal is to be more knowledgeable in this area by end of summer. For this job it was a simple take down and haul away.Couldn’t the tree be saved by applying an insecticide of some sort?
Oh man. I'm so so sorry to hear that. I stumbled across the work of Dr. Jerry Tennant. Have you seen any of his work? Seems interesting. I'm really sorry to hear this Rico.Yea this tree is producing some very nice lumber..
