That was a photo in passing, I shot it out the window in a neighborhood we were working in. I wish we had an opportunity to work on that one.

That is the champion Lake Quinault spruce, in the Olympic Peninsula, about 2 hours from home.
It's an almond tree down in the Caribbean.

Heres a Little holy buttress I found on hill way back propect Park in Brooklyn circa 2017 baby face ... still asked the guy living in it to trade places and take my picture , he was a real sport.. said saaaayyy TREEEEZ 
. Went to a veteran tree management course to see @KTSmith with his thought provoking lectures at Brooklyn botanical gardens . I would love to see another get together like that one go down in the history books.. I have a dashing Kevin in front of a large famous Caucasian wingnut in bbg with a hell of a buttress if I can find it..

Plump rump blam out a now where 70 inch dbh tree to the blob.. most these pics look semi forested trees semi urban .. this jawns in a lawn surrounded by asphalt.. lol

I love the wood bends on that almond.. I've climbed some Caribbean trees , they get bent real nice

I cannot tell where this buttress ends its so enormous.. almost looks like it's set on rock but I think I'm looking at wood scarred and an overlapped mountain of roots I gotta get out west and see some of the giants yall are blessed with.
@evo is that a big leaf maple? Pretty wild coppicing- I wonder how big the original stump was?

The entire bole was a hollow like a chimney all the way up through it , the large scaffold limbs went on for long ways and the top and really entire crown were in great condition. No other notable defects in the tree. You could have a small fire in it with 3 people and comfortable sit close the side doors and chill if you wanted lol
@macswan who was at the class too was supposed to join me on conquest hike finding and climbing a real cool tree to climb, but alas he found a Brooklyn brewery lol.. just playing Mac I dunno what happened ,but where ever you are buddy hope your doing well! Get back on the buzz and back me up here pal. Lol more buttresses please!

Thanks TTF for the shoutout. As I recall, that session was over two days, one at Brooklyn Botanic Garden and one at Green-Wood Cemetery. I've done a few things for BBG, and I confuse easily.
For those curious, this education program offered as part of the BBG academic-credit horticulture program, although it was open to anyone (who paid the fee). A great experience for me, quite intense and electric. Good to have the feedback, I'm not always sure what works and what doesn't. But during the sessions themselves, I'm so focused on finding the beat and heart of the story while not losing the thread, that I'm not so aware of whether others are grooving on what I'm trying to do ... or not.
