Another aerial friction rigging device?

i usually use tree wraps for driftcontrol. its more when i need a remote rigging point (controlled in the tree) where haulback can be annoying with tree wraps. the rig-wrench works good bit i‘ve had a situation where the trunk contour kept the wrench from engaging, burnt groundies gloves and other annoying things.. oh well. thanks for all your answers, maybe santa will read along

All ears for answers to this question. I’ve considered using 1/2” htp just to see how it’ll act, but haven’t found the right situation.
Looks like tomorrow will be my chance. Trying to keep the number of soaked ropes to a minimum, so I’m going to use htp in the downrigger rather than my go-to teuf hivee. I’ll try to remember to report before the weekend.

Often, I prefer to have some stretch as energy- absorption. HTP doesn't give.
I usually feel the same. There are some exceptions, though, and some situations where it’s not terribly important either way.

Conclusion after testing- awful!!!!!

Because htp stiffens under load, it fights the bend of the downrigger and doesn’t feed under less than about 150-200 lbs of material. When it did finally have enough material to feed down, it glazed. Good test

Bump. Anyone have great perfoming ropes in the Morgan/DownRigger? I just picked one 80 foot rope.

Edit that to Nicked. Now only one end is sound for heavier pieces.
