Today....

That’s really beautiful man!

Thanks, it turned out even better than I expected. First time doing it actually. I cut out and made the star, attached the lights to it, then climbed up and installed everything (thank you zip-ties) and was literally rappelling out of the tree as the sun was going down. Didn't expect it to turn into a half-day project... Then more than an hour taking photos as the light was changing... But it was a lot of fun, and I hope it puts a smile on the (very few) people that will actually see it!

(edit: the tip of the star is about 90' and the star is 5' across if anyone was curious)

Beautiful tree and killer photo Boomslang! New Tribe Onyx? If so, how you liking it?,
Love it! I had an original 6 or so years ago and then floated around with different saddles for a few years, but nothing else compares. My only complaint is they went with smaller rigging plates on this updated version (went from SMC to Rock Exotica). Not as friendly to use as lower D's

I'm surprised at how long your bridge is. Where are the carabiner and ring with respect to your waist, chest, or shoulders when you're actually climbing? Do you have a picture of yourself in climbing position?

I found that the Onyx really responded to small adjustments so it took me awhile to get it really dialed in. Once I got it properly dialed and got used to the side D's it was one sweet ride....I miss mine and have recently contemplated getting another one....Plus I love supporting awesome small companies like New Tribe and Gordon (BullDogBone)...

I'm 6'4" so nothing is ever very far out of reach. I tried running a shorter bridge, but like the freedom the longer one affords. I can comfortably turn 180 degrees if I need to.
