Today....

...waiting for the Sandhill Cranes...

The coffeeshops and cafes around here fill up with tourists, every year, most hoping to get a glimpse of Whooping Cranes. For me, this a very entertaining time of year.

Tourist: "Whooping Cranes are bigger than Sandhill Cranes, right?"
Me: "Yeah, and lots tastier, too!"

The look of horror on their faces is priceless.

Made a mistake today by removing this nasty Pinus sylvestris all by me lonesome. Doesn't look massive but it was a solid days work. Believe it or not but there were all kinds of pruning cuts made throughout the process. I made sure to practice my reduction cuts, removal cuts, thinning cuts?, heading cuts, and then made all of those irrelevant with the final basal cut (sorry, had to in the light of recent threads).20200312_082104.webp20200312_175257.webp

You sure you want all the chips?

Yes, just dump them right there.

In the middle of your front yard? If you say so...

Seven loads and 120 yards later... View attachment 66098
Be careful of what you ask for!!!

When we use chip drop if homeowner wants more than 1 load we take pictures and send to make sure they know what 25 yards is

not coming back to load chips for free

same with wood

Removed a small cottonwood and deadwood/prune the large ones in the line. First time climbing in way too long. Felt good to be back in the saddle. I know it’s a Rookie move with the bluestone, luckily no damage :rayos:
