Today....

I was on a job a few weeks back and found a fairly large redwood log deck back in the wood. As far as anyone knew they had been there for 25-30 yrs...The HO's said I could have the logs if I wanted so I brought a few smaller logs home to see if the wood was still good. Jackpot! 10,000-12,000 board feet of some beautiful old stuff to mill up this winter! Started milling up an order for a bunch of 1X10 and 1X3 for board and batten siding....

Yea I'm pretty excited to get into these logs... I skidded 3 small log up to my place to make sure the logs where still sound before I got into the big stuff. The wood is really nice and I am looking forward to getting into the bigger better stuff...It was perfect timing because I am really low on logs and most of the logs I have are out in the woods and I dont pulll logs when its wet and muddy... Tears the shit out of everything.

Do You remember what year this was?
I've heard many of these stories from people like my parents age and older that cops would sometimes just follow u home if you were dwi.
Never these days and I never seen it myself and your almost never gonna hear me say something like this again but it seems like that was a good cop.
I know you weren't drinking but their similar situations in the laws eyes.

It was about 7 yrs ago....Funny but for the most part cops have been more than fair with me... When I deserved a break they usually gave it, but when I didn't they let me have it.........Fair enough.......

A friend from Taos NM gave me a call today to give me a heads about a man I work with 6-7 yrs ago when I was living in Taos. He was a decent climber and strong as fuck, but 2 minutes around this guy and I knew he was a ticking time bomb, and not to be trusted in any way shape or form. By the looks of his picture I would guess he had gotten into meth....WHEN TREE-MEN KILL!

I love northern NM and lived there on and off for years. Stunning country and some truly amazing folks, but as you say some serious crazy mutherfuckers also... Folks don't realize northern NM is one of the poorest ares in American and much of it is a straight up 3rd world country. Being a male gringo there can be downright scary at times and I never left the house without protection ...

NM used to have crazy lax DUI laws.

I was in Taos about 18 years ago, and saw an old poster in a store...
"Can you believe after as few as 20-30 DUIs, they want to take away our licenses?"
As crazy as that sounds, I saw it.
