Life in the temperate zone...

Myself and the boys dropped my wife off at my cousin's baby shower. We went in for a bit and it kinda went like this...
So of course we bolted outta there along with the two gents that married my cousins and made a B Line for a joint that has Golden Tee and overstuffed sandwiches.

Gotta find that silver lining.

Gotta love that first snowfall of the year... people who have lived in the mess all of their lives act like it's still summer and there are cars and trucks in the ditches along I-80 for as far as you can see (or drive). It's like they've completely forgotten what black ice is, or hard-packed snow. And, of course, they can't stand the idea of being behind someone else, so they try to pass six cars and four trucks in a single pass at 85 MPH and the wrecks are spectacular testaments to the laws of physics and stupidity.

No. They all buy it from the same supplier. John Wayne's Texas True Grit Toilet Paper... it's rough and tough and don't take no shit off of nobody.
To Hell with that. I want the unicorn version of soft, soothing, and happy ending before night night.

When the weather gets colder, the furnace comes on. Being warm and fuzzy is all well and good but the humidity in the house really starts to drop. Combine that with a hot shower every day and it's a recipe for dry skin and irritated nasal passages and sinuses. Also, it gives me a dry and itchy left nipple every winter.

That's all for now.

I just stepped on a damn Lego for the umpteenth time and about threw the kid's Easter baskets across the room after scarfed down their Reese's eggs.

I decided a nice glass of bourbon was more appropriate while laying in wait to slowly and inefficiently strangle the Easter Bunny.

I must have painted three dozen hand grenades, and trying to cable tie the pins to the bottom of the baskets with all that fake grass in there is a real pain.

Middle of April, and we got slammed with a winter storm. All the windows on the house and the vehicles are iced over, and the winds feel like they'll take down more trees tonight than I will in five years. It went from 75*F to below freezing and then the power went out for several hours.

But, that's the midwest for you. If you don't like the weather, just wait around for a few minutes.
