Major Decision

Never excepting NO as an answer and amazing patience will get you there Steve! Congratulations on making a life changing decision!
I just made my purchase on a knuckle boom the other week and know what your saying about finacing.. I'm hoping to add my saw and works this winter.. Iam tired of non reliable workers. That's why I'm planning to go the treemek route, and just run one guy since we still will be offering the complete service.

Also i would make sure your mek has a hitch installed and buy a decent used grinder, i find i make the most money grinding stumps for other companies that don't have them or their grinders are to small to take on the big stumps! It would be a double win for u if your there for the removal/craning and then take the grinder down and make a couple more bills without having to leave the jobsite.

Stumps may be a zero sum equation depending on the market in your area. Some guys around here grind for nothing more than to take work from other companies. It's all about the market in your area. But I'm sure steve has thought about that.

Very slick idea. Then you can also crane the grinder into backyards if needed!

I don't mind grinding, its the cleanup that gets me. I guess a mini helps with that but then you're getting away from simplifying things. To each their own and that's decent money!

Leave the clean up for the general contractor, landscaper, etc. If your a one man show with a Mec then a mini is already in order. A big grinder just makes sense to go with the "kit."
One step at a time. :D
