    Depends on diameter. 18" tree: 3" doesn't worry me too me without other indicators. 6" on a 54" tree is a little concerning....but...

    Did y'all get the symbolism of the colors I chose for the ruler scale" YMMV but I guessed 3" shell or less = oh crap, 6" of shell to 3"...
