Zip-line

This is a zip line set up another student and I did during a climbing class over the weekend. These are some of the highlights. The girl that I show footlocking was her very first time trying it. Pretty good for a first try.

Original music was going to be Good Feeling by Flo Rida

Had to use a YouTube special for copyright purposes.

So music wise it is a little lame but it works. I suggest playing the original song I intended in the background. Or any music at that.

Yup once we got the zip line dialed in it was a good time. Some of the smaller girls didn't go as far or fast, to light.

Nice Hub setup, Casey.

How did you tension the zip line? Also, could you have backed up the anchor point or increased the angle to put less bending moment on the lead? Maybe I just can't tell from the video.

Looks like fun.

Thanks Taylor,

It was tensioned with a 5:1 system.

The zip line was run over 2 leads (opposite sides of tree) then redirected at the base to another nearby tree where the tension was applied and held with a port-a-wrap.

Is that what you were asking? By leads you mean multiple branch unions right?
