ZigZag Issue Again...

I just started using the (ultra slick) Usaver and before that the DMM fimblsaver, mostly post accent. I noticed through constant inspections it cracked on a ddrt accent with Usaver, 11.7 Luna and a pantin.

Petzl is gonna send me my third ZZ2. They also gave me the option of a refund. I will take a ZZ.
 
From what I understand it's a problem with the tempering of the metal at the time of manufacture. I think Petzl has softened up the link to prevent future cracks as of October.

Serial numbers 10274 and up will have the modification.

Thanks Petzl, it's a great tool despite its issues.

I still climb on that every day. After reading about the first 'issues' breaking the alloy eyes I had to follow a fellow arborist by making my own bombproof HitchZag.
But this was not the picture I was referring to David.
