yeah, like some VIRUS or something, same thing happened to me...

asking for my user name and password to gianttree or something.

I guess your photos are on some secure site and won't let us view unless we have user name and password.

That was a pretty slick looking tree. Was the main stem dead? Anyhow, nice shot. The rest are nice too, especially the lightning pic.

Curious - the first pic is a Douglas fir, right?

Were the growth rings really tight? Because it looks like it may be pretty old for its size, considering some of the characteristics.

Hey Mario here's a link to a thread about those trees. They were very slow grown trees, unfortunately someone with a education decided they were 'hazard trees.'

I think it's hard to the undercut as I faced it to swing away from me, not entirely sure.

Thanks xman, they all are my pics.

Gord, your photo reminds me of a redwood called Kronos. Here is an image of the limb. The limb is 7' diameter, and the largest stem sprouting from the limb, is about 4' in diameter.

Another one I stumbled across. From a job back in the summer. Giant Burr Oak had fallen down at a golf course (due in large part to root rot). Rented this machine to move the wood. It would have had a 54" DBH if it was standing.

This is my dad in top of a cottonwood

we had to remove the limbs over the yard because the rest was over the lines and was going to be taken care of by Asplundh
