John Lennon - Imagine Lyrics

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I've got a somewhat klutzy gal friend who claims to have one day accidentally sent a man and his sack of groceries sprawling on the sidewalk in NYC. As she was scrambling to help him gather himself together she realized who it was; John Lennon. I believer her.

John was cool enough, but I'm more of a Who fan of music from that era.

I could see that, and agree.

You know, I hadn't realized that yesterday was the anniversary until last night's news. I guess I wondered a little about the seemingly out-of-nowhereness of the thread.

Yes, Meyers and Moon, both have alot of wackiness in them.

I always liked the legend of how Moon got his place in the band...The Who were a fledgling band, playing I think under an earlier name...they had a different drummer and were playing a bar...during the break, Kieth went up to Roger and said he could do a lot better job than the guy who was their drummer....Roger said OK prove it...Kieth played the next set, tearing it up not only musically but at the end, destroyed the guy's drum kit. He was hired.

That event signaled the end of festival seating for major shows. I recall several shows where it was best to not fight the throng as the doors opened, but to instead merely pick up your feet and let yourself be carried on in (being taller than average helps with that). After succeeding with that method one time, I watched in horror as my buddy's girlfriend (who was shorter than average) was pressed hard against the glass next to the door for several minutes. I really thought she was going to be pushed through. I mean, her lovely face was flattened against the glass as we stood there helpless on the other side. Thankfully nothing bad happened, but it was horrifying for a few minutes...

This is fairly fresh in my mind. I was fortunate enough to have picked up one of the $400.68 (out the door) HP laptops at Wal-mart on Black Friday and that scene brought back these memories.
