Yodle Advertising

I Just received a call from a representative from yodle, an online marketing service. He said using this service could bring in 80-120 additional calls per month in my area by being seen on Google, yahoo, AOL, MSN and others. It didn't sound too bad but could be anywhere from $800-2000 a month which sounds steep. Curious to see if anyone uses yodle- check them out at yodle.com Any thoughts? I will really be putting a lot of thought in this. Thanks guys.

don't do it.

They are a rip off.

A friend of mine did it and he lost 2K.

All they do is buy google adwords for you.

Hello??? How hard is that?

Why do you need them to take a cut off the top?

Its not like they get a better deal. Adwords cost the same for everyone.

Dont do it.... You will waste your money.

COULD.

They dont just buy adwords. They also can show you where the calls came from ie: what key words were responsible for the call. They do google yahoo etc for the ads. So if you look at what your budget currently is and figure out the difference in there cos that is what you are paying them. I am currently doing a 3 month trial Ill let you know my results. Im not paying 2000$ though.

How's it been working for you?I talked to the yodle guys at the tci expo, looks like it might be worth a shot.

I am now getting out. Has not worked for me. I saw them at TCI in 2009. Tried it this fall and it only got me a few leads in 3 months.

That sucks, seems like nothing really works anymore

I am working with some web marketing folks, thru TCIA. Market Hardware.

They not only created a "mobile website" for me, but have also taken over my adwords/microsoft campaign. They charge a nominal $45 fee per month to manage the account, which will be tracked via a tracking phone number. I was told, which makes sense, that it takes about 4 months for it to fully kick in and to see steady results. They can prove their results from the tracking number, which I was hesitant about at first, but I learned more about it and am happy with it.

If any of you are looking into this, I would say be patient, and give it at least four months. Beats a 12 month contract with the Yellow Pages any day!

Wasn't going to post about this, but keep seeing negative comments about Yodle so I'll share our experience.

....It was great! Signed up for three months. They charged like 50 or 60 bucks per month for their service. We did 1k per month. Had more calls than we could even handle. We actually had to cancel early because we were so booked headed into vacation. They had maps of calls and recorded phone calls you could listen back to.
One downside is they "mirror" your website and replace your phone # with one of theirs (usually a 1-800#). Other than that, I'd recommend them.

We also tried Orange Soda with less positive results.

When you say you did 1k per month, was that what you spent or business brought in?

There tracking system is definately great. They also mirrored my site with a diff #.

Apparently Rogers has licenced yodle's system for use in Canada and I'm thinking about participating. I see a value in tracking how many phone calls are directly off a website click. Anyone else used Rogers for this service in Canada?
