Yellow Poplar w/ spots

First off, my apologies for the large file. I dont know how to make them smaller.

This is a pic of a leaf from a yellow poplar (tulip tree). It is in its second growing season and late last summer developed the same spots it now has. We have very few of these trees around so Im looking for some help.

What are the spots? How does one treat them?

Sorry can't see any pic ethier. Are the older leafs turing yellow? Are the spots brown and between the veins. Also check to see if the soil is dryed out around the tree. If so, I'm think maybe (summer leaf yellowing) Young or new trans are susceptible during hot, dry summers. If this is yellowings you need to water, water, water.

Can't open the file, did they form recently. Might be Cristulariella leaf spot, which are favored by cool wet weather in mid summer, most noticeable on lower branches. Normally it will be retatared by weather flucations.

Summer leaf yellowing is a problem in the east, during hot spells.

Most leaf diseases are treated in the spring during leaf emeemergence. some degree of control can be applied later in season, once infected, not much you can do.

Okietreedude,
Look in Johnson and Lyons book... they refer to the leaf spot as physiological. We get it when we have really hot, dry spells. Evidently the tuliptree makes dots instead of marginally scorching.
Shouldn't be anything more than aesthetic, anyway.
