Yale scandere

Seems like this rope got lost in the midst of things or I’m living under a rock, anyone have experience with it?

I had 75' piece for awhile. Kept it for removals. Best rope i ever used with the cbdb. Spiked it one day swinging back from a tip tie. I really liked it might need to pick some more up.

I used it as my primary SRT line with RRP for a while. It does hold up to mechanical ascenders very well with no picking but has stiff hand and I found an Ivy version works a bit better in the RRP.

It has a tightly woven cover that makes it really nice for mechanical interface. Does not have great knotability or hand, which isn't as important since it's usually a stationary or access line. I like it. Just know I like a lot of ropes; I have a lot of ropes and I switch them up a lot.

I like it but I must say my brand new ZZ didnt last long before it started slipping...I've heard this from other guys too.

I caught a clip from someone the other day saying it’s better in the hand than blue 32 which is awful if you’re a gloveless climber in my opinion which was promising. Thanks for all the responses.

Is this a statement about the quality of the build on the ZZ or the scandere?
I'm not dissing anybody just stating that I bought a brand new zz and brand new hank of scanner at the same time and after a couple weeks the zz started slipping, not long after switching ends of the rope I realized I cannot use that zz on that rope anymore so I went back to the rope I wanted to retire

I just think after hearing how much the zz slips and after my own experience I don't think the zz is a great device for scandere... it's a great rope if the zz grabs yes but when it don't ...lol
Been using zz a long time with many other ropes...but none of the 32 carrier type like scanner, which I think might be too smooth for it.
Little more context...I was doing long descents for crane work and I like to bomb when it's needed. I think a Yale or now Samson ivy 11.7 does much better and lasts years longer with a zz

And my hank of scandere came in as a 200ft double sewn tight eye splice, cut off a section to create a lanyard and Install the zz...never felt the need to milk and after hearing tons of rave from others including August who only used og zz....thought it would be great and it was for a month maybe....not long enough, I was disappointed

The rope any even fuzzy yet...barely used I'll sell it cheap if yah want ...I got a lot of experience with zz, was running ogs when they were new and I think they are fine I think that rope is too slick too smooth brand new. I'll bet if I took it out and beat it up till it got a little fuzzy it might grab again...but that's shifty when you gotta keep 6-10 guys busy

I have 200’ for my primary access line. Used it as my main rope for a couple years before akimbo 1. Had it on an og runner and BDB. Bouncy but I liked it. Can’t kill it but it’s fast with a mechanical. Tbh I got this one free or I might not have bought it.

Been bombing my OG ZZ on Sumac for a solid 3yrs. I love it. Reserved for crane work only. Sometimes, after a pick, I'll run it natty crotch to get down. I don't care to but, do what I have to at times.

I wish i ran this combo when I 1st got it. I would have bought a whole spool of it. I like Sampson ropes but, I wish Ivy still belonged to Yale. Love the Sumac colors.
