How big/heavy do you go rigging with this sling? No, just buried right inside
Looks interesting, I would think pressure should hold it all in place. I took 3 and then just braided the tails, never did try it out. I was just bored and actually needed the rings for something else. You do have to love the cost of small tenex, try it, look at it, take or cut apart, throw away 5 bucks worth of cord.
pretty sure ive seen david mention on the XRR thread to steer clear of amsteel because of the potential heat build up.
I agree its not the optimal setup ,but unless your rigging aggressively with heavy loads ( and by agressively I mean fast as hell one after another after another like sling set for rope return clip biner cut like damn machines ) with heavy ass loads did I say that alreadyI agree with CutHigh as David mentioned on the lengthy X-Rigging Ring thread that Amsteel, although very strong, is not a good choice due to low resistance to heat. I believe somewhere he mentions the temperature reading of some rings after sitting in a vehicle as well as the temperature for degradation of Amsteel. I have used primarily Tenex as it easy to splice and allows you to create slings that are adjustable.
Yup. A single length that would be 2x the finished sling length, plus whatever is needed to finish both eyes.Eric, with your idea you would use only one piece of cordage, correct?
Just a smidge! LOL!Just like the Oceans tether only a smidge bigger right?
That is RAD! So rad. Very nice work, Levi!Okay here is my first attempt at the "Oceans" XRR sling
5/8 tenex, large ring, beast ring
Most likely stronger as well.Throw a ring in the other end (back splice end) and you have a triple ring that could be retrievable and incredibly strong. And much less complicated to create then David's triple (nothing against that particular device). It's just evolution.
