Wtb silky gomtaro pro sentei 240

If just pruning I’d recommend the smaller tooth one vs prosentai. I’ve got both the 300 with the fine at the tip, and shorties with the finer teeth ($30 each a couple yrs ago during black friday). The 300 feels a bit short for most removals but long for ornamentals and fruit trees. The 240 pruning ones are lovely, and I have a Samurai 8” fine tooth too. Straight blade is dope for hinges but I’ve gone back to curved for removals for less wear on the shoulder.

Have you used a Tsurugi?

I like that better than a Gomtaro... personal preference.
Yeah I really like my 375 curve w/ large teeth but I'm trying to get my saddle configuration dialed exactly right and I think a shorter, straight blade saw is the ticket and I want to try the combination teeth.

My friend has a tsurugi 300 straight and I like it but I'd like something just a touch shorter. Also I'd kinda like a scabbard that doesn't clink quite so much

I’m using both of those.
I love my 400mm Tsurugi straight blade, large tooth, and got some spare large and medium tooth blades. It’s a workhorse and is always on my saddle.

My Gomtaro used to have a 300mm large tooth blade and was my daily climbing handsaw. Lovely saw, stayed sharp for a very long time. After it got dull, I got the Tsurugi for daily work and the Gomtaro got a 300mm fine tooth blade, for ornamentals or whatever I might want a cleaner cut on. So rather than a prosenti, I can just use a 300mm fine tooth saw or a 400mm medium or large tooth.

I thought a lot of Silky saws used the same handle bolt pattern. As you can find the replacement blade are there other handles you can use?

It looks like a zubat handle, idk if they're compatible, but if I have to source a new handle and scabbard it works out to be about the same as buying a complete 240
