WTB: Saddle for rec climbing. 36-40"W

I'm beginning to give up on the notion of getting folks to try rec climbing with me. I purchased two Notch Spartan harnesses with the sliding D on a webbing bridge. I have tried it out, and while it's no TreeMotion, it's a totally viable harness.

It looks like you've made some decent purchases recently, and would advise you to consider that the harness is the single biggest factor in how comfortable your experience will be. This directly translates to how fun it is. I know it stings to fork over $350+ for it, but if you're already as committed as you seem to be, it's gonna feel worth it when you're in it.

That said, I'd sell one of mine to you for $150+shipping. It's 3 years old and stored in a closet. Used once to get a feel for it.

I can't find them for sale anymore, but they were only $200 new, and these days there's no saddles that cheap. I can post pics if you're interested.

I'd love to take a look, thank you. Do you what size range it'll fit?

I have a 33" waist, and it seems it'd fit a substantially larger person than me, but no matter how much weight you lose, it's gonna fit. My buddy bought one of these for himself and he's 6'3" and 135 pounds soaking wet, and it fit him well enough that he could go fully inverted and not slide out. I forgot how relatively comfortable it is, considering how, well, spartan it is.

I've really liked a friends Singing Rock Timber 3D for rec climb (or even light duty work climbing). It looks like they are being discontinued - size Xl availabel for $170, I think it is a great buy if it'll fit:

(not to try to cut off a sale from a good member here! Just saying, this is a deal!)

That does look like a good deal, I cant be sure on the size though. Im around a 36 or 38 now, hoping to drop a size or two...

Do you know the sizing? The website doesn't say much to that effect, but that is a good deal.

I wouldn't hold it against you for picking up that Singing Rock. That's a nicer, probably more comfortable harness, and an amazing deal.

They probably do use the same sizing, as the adjustment components are the same style. That's a pretty wide adjustment range.
I cannot find anything about sizing now...but when I originally helped that friend shop for a harness, one of the criteria was wide adjustability so several different people could use it. I think he got a M/L size...but we made sure it would fit skinny teenage kids too.

Found this old thread talking about the harness before...apparently it was determined that the M/L Timber 3D was 28-39"...https://www.treebuzz.com/forum/threads/looking-for-extra-small-saddle-for-grandkids.41753/#post-627756

I assume they'd have similar overlap in sizing as that chart you found for their Arbor Master. Hope it works out well!

It looks like the sliding ring only attaches to the adjustable leg straps. What am I missing?

Not sure what you mean...the bridge attachment? Where else would it attach? I suppose at the rings at the leg loops? But those log loops ride lower than others (looking at my Tree Motion)...

Looks like it connects between the leg loops and the main harness section. Not sure if its 100% connected to the main section or just connected by that adjustable webbing / tri-bar hardware.. heres some pics from

says "CE 0123, EN358, EN813" so I assume its good to go.
