Wraptor

Paul Cox you are the man and the world should know that the Wraptor is a Life changer. My life as an aging tree climber is owing to you for the mere fact that the energy required to climb aloft in trees has been reduced to the squeezing of a trigger. It levels the playing field.

Bless you for getting the Wraptor into production it has changed my whole life as an aging climber. I only wish you had developed it back forty to fifty years ago so I could it have used it back then. Paul your the best...

The idea of a zip line has nothing on a ride on the Wraptor. I would much rather ride up on the wraptor then any ride on a zip line. The idea of going up is to me a lot more thrilling and interesting then a fast ride on a zip line.JMO

Sounds really good, affordable all that, but, spurs still thrill me. If you were only doing removals would the wraptor be used as much?

[/ QUOTE ]Spurs tend to lose their thrill when the joints start achin', and the hips get dysplasic.

Plus, why would anyone choose to do only removals? Different market in the boreal forest yaa, but pruning is easier to sell and do when the right gear is available. JMO ;)

I just wanted to know will a wraptor just take up room on the truck or will it speed up production and make more money. The designer/builder deserves all climbers thanks for a new tool/toy. I'd like one I just think it would get used once a week maybe.

Depends on where you are working and what kind of work you are doing. I have one and love it. It hasn't seen much action lately but it is a much appreciated asset in the arsenal when there are some big climbs. When you got one though, You will look forward to using it. It's a trip!!

I don't find spurring difficult. I grew up on skis and skates.

For me the trees did the honorable thing and chose removal over pruning, it's out of my hands.

Me too, and you can throw in ultramarathoning, tennis, mountaineering....But wait'l you hit 40, 50, 60. That's when you get

Pretty darn determined trees you got up dare--Suicidus canadensis?

Everyone's been trying to hang onto every tree here. But lots are falling down, you know, same age stand.

- Back to the Wraptor - I could see Wraptoring up being a thrill at any age. Probaby twist a knee hooking up the trailer after anyway.

I absolutely love my wraptor and keep a trained eye and rifle ready to any who dare touch it :) I use it for removals and what is cool is you can blast up, tie in, delimb, repel come down and clean brush up then ride back up for the spar without busting a sweat. There is a learning curve to reach its full potential production but to me nothing is better until we get wings

I think along the same lines as Bing. In that, I'm afraid it takes some of the workout (okay, a lot of the workout) out of climbing.

If you only go aloft once, for a big tree, in one day, which is most of my days, I would rather get better and refine my climbing system until I can get up 100' in under 2 minutes.

Sure, there's merit to helping the aged climbers out, but the young guys shouldn't be spoiled even more.

As far as efficiency goes, I do believe a skilled, professional climber can get up there as fast as the W can put them there if you include the switchover at the top and lowering the $2500 device.

Wrench is cheaper, and makes for a stronger climber.

I was telling my guys if we get one we can practice for the comps on the weekends. But im thinking more as a buisness owner who wants to make more money.I use to think along the same lines as you guys even had some the same arguments. But this shoulder injury has really forced me to think things thru.Plus with all the extra trees you could do you would have plenty of time to execise.
