Worst Brush to Drag

Did a Hackberry removal in tight quarters yesterday. That stuff sticks to itself like Velcro. Not a big fan. I could hear my groundie saying some choice phrases under his breath.

What's the worst brush you've dealt with?

All of it! I'm waiting for the inventor who designs a 3-d laser pruning and removal system. The laser will burn the brush and wood leaving only a pile of ash to clean up. Not sure how he will deal with the carbon credits on it though.

locust can be a real pain in the a$$ but ornamental apples/crab apples are hell just cause they have no length to be able to stack and drag then, its just a big brillo of tangels, just as hard to chip with out a machine to just stuff everything in there.

On the other hand I once chipped a large pile of mint clippings from a clients garden and for a time it filled the air with a pleasant, well, minty smell!

The most fun I had with a chipper was also apples. It was loaded with ripe fruit and they all got shaken off and rolled down a hill. The apples were stampeding.

pitch pines can have crazy branching structure that can suck to do anything with not to mention the pine cones are hidden and sting
some things like black cherry and birch are fine to drag to the chipper, but watch those tips at the other end going in!
