True that. We had more rain than usual this year, but it came down too heavily and quickly to get the most out of it.

We had almost no rain all summer. A couple of heavy mists really. Ground is like rock. Even the swamps are all dried up and hard. Lake levels are down several feet. Trees are shriveling their leaves. I think if we had a rain, it would just run off and not in the ground it is so dry. We will be losing a lot of trees. The Bronze Wood Borer will rear its ugly head once again and kill off the paper birches. I already have found it in two birches in my yard this fall. Bastard critters.
Weather around the world sure has gone bizzarro on us.

Yes, 110 dl lightweight bar. I got swatted with a log a couple months ago and jacked up my shoulder and collar bone and have a hard time with the 661now. 500 isn’t as painful.

Sorry to hear about you injuries. I've broken both on my left.

@L3VI both were from a car accident when I was 22. I healed good and quickly at the young age. No troubles from those localities today. The left hip...different story.
I'll never let it stop me though. I power through, recognize the pain, ease back and push forward.

Sorry to hear about you injuries. I've broken both on my left.

some people call the 110 driver bar a 33”, some call it a 34”. I prefer to think of it as 34”. it’s 5 drivers longer than a 32” and 4 drivers shorter than a 36”.

Got a request to remove several Leyland pines on the neighbor's property that are leaning over the neighbor's rickety fence. I got permission from the neighbor to take down the trees, and I came up with this setup to keep from wrecking the fence.

Getting the trees down and cut up will be easy enough, but hauling all that debris to the curb four hundred feet away is gonna be a workout since neither of the property owners can lend a hand. I think I'll put most of this project off till fall now that I have a plan that works.

I left these crossing limbs on an oak in this same yard a while back.

I was happy to see they're now covered with little shoots that'll keep them alive.

Did this big Oak tree with my brother the other day working for another tree company. The owner of the biz is a fella we used to work for years ago. His crew is a little younger and less experienced than us so he's hired us on a few times to work with them and do some training along the way, it's been a good deal.

This tree was on a hectic construction site, extra level of awareness needed was exhausting but the day was successful and fun. Some learning happened for all and we got the job done.



This thing was like 50" dbh, huge oak for this area. Definitely the biggest I've worked on. I didn't climb, ground support lol.

Doing some work on a lake island with old camp buildings. Bracing and cabling a codom red oak over a boathouse. The tree had a chain someone had installed between the stems about 10ft above the union, which is very hollow with included bark down to ground level…I guess it’s worked so far, haha. Might of recommended removal if it was over a house, but felt okay with a cable and a few braces given the limited use of the place and nature of the targets. Great views!
