Work Photos

I'd been avoiding this thread because it is massive. I'm gonna flip through it over the next couple of days.

The boss was on site today and got one he thought was funny.
We're removing Deadwood from about 30 trees at the University of Arkansas in Monticello. They get pretty big down there. I'll try and get a few of the more impressive ones.

Edit: The climber by the slow sign is not me. I'm at the top center of the photo.

Started with a Humboldt, ended up using a full-Gap face.

My ms660 had a scored cylinder, so this was all ms460 and ms461 maxing at a 36" bar. Oh, and the nearly new 576xp I bought off TreeBay, for a song... Ripper!!

Time for a new bigger saw, and bigger bar and chain. Meant to buy one this week, but didn't get to it.

Gord's Magic Cut FTW!

Here's another one that needed some love. I was so busy scrambling and trying to get stuff done that I didn't get many pictures. I run a 10" bar when I'm pruning (most of the time) and this tree made me regret it. You can see the 16" diameter dead stick about halfway up the trunk.

Have some pics I can share. We took down this multiple stem redwood, up against the high volt lines. Lineman hung grounds and isolated the span. This was the last removal in a reforestation site that will be replanted with cuttings from champion old growth. We'll mill the wood into benches and such...

I tried out the solo span rig today. I left the termination end redirected over a crotch and kept moving the anchor knot as I made my cuts. I made 5 cuts, landed them all on the lawn and retrieved the whole system from my last cut with the pulley saver. Many thanks to the folks that make my job easier. (y)

Rain garden going in. Got the river stone around the drainage grate in with some decorative boulders and started dumping chips for mulch. Baldies are on their second season and we're planting water loving/swamp perennials, grasses, and shrubs this autumn. Hard to tell from the pic but everything drains to this area.
