Work Photos

Ill try to sketch out what I though might happen tomorrow. I'm tired. Craned all day in gale force winds so i'm tired just from the stress of the day, not necessarily the work aspect of it. Thanks for the discussion. You may be totally rite and i'm completely misjudging things Levi. Totally cool with me. Like I said, learning a lot about hazardous trees lately. I've never really be one to do the sketchy shit.

Shit man, I have not worked all week. Nothing but rain and high winds up here, the power company shuts us down for weather real quick. That's what I get for being the technical take down guy for electrical hazard trees.

Oh yeah, I forgot it's been raining there.... oh well, probably nice to hang with your family for a bit anyways. You guys still in the camper?

No, we rented a house up here in the High Sierras. The camper was just too small for the wife, if I was single it would be a whole nother story.

I think Devon is sending his bad juju south.

Out of respect I had to stop when a funeral rolled in. Had just self rigged the top down and then had to. Wait a several minutes till they peaced out so I could finish piecing out.
Cold is easy when your moving.
For a while I was crying like lil baby

At this point I am smart enough to stay alive
Tough enough to get it done
Stupid enough to think it's fun

Levi here's a potential worst case scenario. A large limb or section is removed, causing the adjacent wood to start moving, potentially a great deal. That force then could move down the remainder of the stem to the split. That force then could, potentially, cause the pre existing split to widen and lead to sudden catastrophic failure. Could also happen in adverse weather conditions.
Less likely to occur in this case because it was a crane job BUT dynamic loading of trees is a pretty damn complex area of math/physics/engineering and shouldnt be underestimated. Not my area of practice but there are some pretty good resources out the regarding load dynamics re tree work.
