That's a 17 hour drive for me! I personally despise flying, but I'm flying with my best friend in his private jet! Spoiled, I know! Going to the Ferrari plant and heading to some sort of hob knob festivities ! Is this the plant/store invitation thing that Sean has put together for doubting members of TreeStuff? I didn't get any invite, so it'd be on my dime! I would like to see how they run their operation, fo sho!

Well helped out Drewtree today with my crane guy and equipment do some dying spruce trees. With a little bit of mentoring and some courage he rocked it out !

Panties in the tree was rather mysterious. I have to say crane work was a blaaaaaast.. also finally getting a chance to work with you was top notch, you guys are a great crew and your crane operator is as cool as a cucumber. Any time you need backup let me know, I'll come up for a couple days.

I've never done crane work, but I see that there's yet another good reason to own a power pruner saw. The things are just too damn handy not to have one!
Very cool pics... but, all that hard work being done has made me tired. Might be time for a nap.

This one was a hoss. On 2 houses and across 3 yards. Limbed out all the non load bearing limbs with the 17t and did he rest with a 60t. Boom maxed out and max lift at a low angle was about 5000. Must have been my a game day because I hit my lift weight estimates on the nose every pic. I love crane work. I have to say the crane class was the best educational investment I've made over the years. A total game changer for me. We are developing a great reputation with our local crane network. Guys love to work with us because I give the crane op a headset and they don't bat an eye about me using my own rigging slings. It's really changing relationships and building a trust with the operators and the company

Side note, I guess I've been he foreman for a few months now and nobody told me. Not really sure how I feel about that. I'd much rather just be called the baby sitter instead. The whole crew is green as can be. It's like an etch-a-sketch. Bump one of them and all he information you just gave them falls away. Sad really but we just can't find anybody worth a shit. Makes it real hard for me to get off ontime everyday. Other than that life is good. Finally convinced the boss to get sena systems for the crew so I don't have to listen to him yell at them all day when he's on the crane. Now he can bitch at a normal volume level. Updated our saw inventory and ropes. Now he just needs to get in the 20th century on rigging.

Devon will be on lifestyles of the rich and famous soon. Canada's most lucrative tree guy. When he buys his own 60t I'm moving.
Ha ha lol. I honestly couldn't pull off any of our work without an awesome dedicated crew and especially Mike who's been helping me since July when my main climber went down with a mysterious illness ! As well as Dave aka Pelorus has rocked out some majorly nasty storm jobs this last summer. My crane guy Mikes new to him 110 ton grove is awesome ! We use it mainly as an 80 or 90 due to not being able or having to haul around the extra counter weights. 142 of main boom is awesome ! Especially when he charges us for the 75 ton rate !

Wow that's a nasty one there for sure buddy! I can't echo your words enough Steve, that course taught me a lot and sharpened my skills more then I can even explain! If anyone wants to learn to do crane work and take your skills to the next level, take the craneman inc. course ! I'm hoping to take one or 2 guys down next year.

You bet Jeff! I'd have you here for a weeks worth of crane work but you can't bring your scary clown face, you'd terrorize my kids ! Lol
