Work Photos

Sounds like an opportunity to me.
For someone I guess? But I can’t see enough demand for a crane here. We are still in the pioneering phase. Population of perhaps 2400 winter and 10000 summer? I’d be guessing? Mostly wealthy retired and oil rig workers, a lot of NHL hockey players. I live in the cheap seats, not waterfront! Low property taxes!

We have rented cranes for years but there's only two outfits here. One reason we bought one is to have it available whenever we need it. Think storm work. The other reason is the crane rental cost was adding up to more than the payments and insurance would be. Another reason was because we are busy enough that I need more time in the week. The crane definitely helps with that. If I had to choose, I'd take the crane over having a bucket truck. The main downside with it is having to have the room to set it up and getting it into tight spots. A smaller crane than I have would be better about that. I'm actually thinking about getting a smaller crane eventually just for the access. I'd like to have a boom truck in the 19-23.5 ton range with an 80+ ft boom. My crane is also very slow climbing hills. We work on top of 3 mountains around here fairly regularly. It's a 10mph climb up them. We've got a couple of pecan's to take down Wednesday of this week. I'll try to remember to snap some pictures.

14739.webpjust hangin with an old friend for a broken limb lay in on cherry. DSRT Dual bulldogg bones keeping me in the zone. Haven't climbed them in a few weeks and oh they so fly.

The tree further away from the truck is 8 ft DBH and 220ft-235ft of natures perfection! I know its evil and wrong, but I just can't help but imagine the beautiful wood in that one every time I drive by it. Old habits die hard brother!

I am always calculating how many lord feet are in the big pumpkins I see, but these days I have no interesting in killing anything over 5-6ft DBH unless it is endangering anything or anyone. Just doesn't fell right.
They are a bitch to deal with once you knock em down too! Have you had a chance to work with Mr. Beranek?

I just finished building this truck to haul around my 72 foot tracked lift and my mini skid Vermeer as well as some plywood to keep from tearing up the grass. I also just bought another firetruck two nights ago and I’m going to build it like this to haul my 90 foot lift around

Medium size maple removal. Good bit of lowering over driveway and shed. Day started out cloudy but ended up being a nice day. Thanks for looking
