Words of wisdom

When I was just getting started in tree work I was over zealous to climb. As I grabbed my equipment and volunteered to climb on this job with a real technical 40 foot hanger my 55 year old foreman stopped me and gave me the best advice I have ever received " If you want to make a lifetime career of this remember the best climbers don't climb if they do not need to" He then spent 45 minutes setting ropes with the throw line and we got that thing down without breaking a sweat. He is in his mid sixties now and still working full time. Pacing myself has never been my strong suit but he certainly made his point.
