I have heard some "WORDS of TREE WISDOM" recently on the buzz.

"No knees in the trees" - Tom Dunlap

"Make friends with the swing!" - Kathy Holtzer

these are two recent one

and there is this

What are some that you have heard in the past or have to pass on?

He could own it if he had been the one to 'prune' the tree in Charlotte in '07. Since he was the 'beneficiary' of the stub cut he wasn't really haunted by it...but it did spook him.
 
Tree related jargon...

From Tom:

If you have comments like that take them to the street. Babysitting is something I did when I was in junior high.
 
Can't quote a specific source or definite wording, but here's some good advice:

Always hang your pole saw with the blade pointing away from you (preferably below your feet).

Don't use your knees to brace yourself.
Don't use your knees to leverage yourself up onto a limb or into a branch union.
Keep your knees from banging into anything in the trees.

At times I'll wear kneepads. the ones I have are Rollerblade pads with the plastic cups cut off of them.

I disagree Tom, knees are good for work positioning, always use them for that extra bit of stability. Knee pads? probably a good idea.
