Woke up in a white oak

Location
CT
Anybody else out there love tree camping? I just woke up this morning a white oak (3rd largest in ct) and wish I could stay up all day long. I love the adventure of bringing everything you may need up into the tree with you. Feeling everything the tree feels, like the wind and rain and storms, is pretty cool and when the sun sets on the canopy, it's just magical. Just had to write out to you guys to see if anyone else loves the high of sleeping high up in a tree. Happy 4th. =Dan /forum/images/graemlins/monkeedance2.gif /forum/images/graemlins/monkeedance2.gif

I have camped out in redwoods 200 ft. off the ground on the northern California coast. Nothing like it. I wish I could have awoken in a treeboat this morning, but had to work today.

Hey, I don't log on regularly. Whats up guys?! Sorry no pictures, didn't even occur to me to take them. You know its the "I'm sleeping up in a tree tonight" reply: "You're doing WHAT??!". I'm so used to no one giving a hoot. I forgot about the other tree junkies out there. The general population is pretty boring. Anyways next time I go I'll take some snap shots for you guys. There was a deer under the tree when I awoke.... thats the third time a deer has been right underneath me and had no clue I was there. Pretty cool. Brendonv, I live in Southbury, the tree is in Bethlehem. The tree is unfortuanatly a secret tree..I think. (hope) As far as the champion tree scale, I believe this to be the 2 or 3 largest white oak in the state. Massive canopy, tops for ever.
Where in ct are you? CA guys. My friend moved out to frisco bay area about a year ago. When to visit him once and of course climbed my first redwood. UUHHhh. Sweet trees. Amazing that living things can be so enormous. I have yet to camp in them, but plan on it come september sometime. Anyways, thanks for the responses guys. Any good stories about "moments" in trees while camping? I love when the leaves a super still, then a breeze comes along (you can hear it coming through the other trees) and moves into and across the canopy like a wave. The tree seems so alive it's weird when it stops moving again. NECTCC Saturday! Cross yur fingers. L8ter =Dan
