Why not ARC?

Ive been using New Englands ARC in 8 mm and 10 mm recently and i am wondering why this chord is not on the arborist market? Its HRC's homeboy so what gives?

Just looked it up and found this

Scroll down to find it. Looks like it would make a good chord, but I can't find the breaking strength of it. Anyone have any info on this?

8mm tensile is 7500 and 10mm is 11500.

Probably because it isn't designated by New England as an "Arborist" line. I'm sure if you get enough people to use it maybe NE will change that designation.
What's the difference between ARC and HRC? Is it heat and abrasion resistant?

they should make a heat and abrasion resistand cord and call it HARC!

Because its only abrasion resistant, not heat resistant. Good for a rainy day where HRC will wear very fast. But not good for quick decents because you can burn through it. I got to mess around with it for a day setting up the PA/DEL masters climb last year. Feels about the same as HRC in my opinion.

Some people use it. I think I've heard that its better for a hitch on your lanyard than your climbing line because it's stiff stuff.
