Who makes the best. . .

Just thought I would post a poll. Know this may sound weird coming from a 15yr old, but I've always loved all the equipment and everything, so I thougth i would post this. Who makes the best chippers or grinders. And on the chippers, do you like double axle, single axle, grapple, winch, etc. Also, what do you think of Rayco chippers. Good/bad etc. Thanks for looking

RD, The trouble with these types of polls is that most of us do not have experience with every brand let alone every model. We may have seen an impressive demo or read a spec sheet but we don't have enough significant experience using differing machines to be able to draw solid conclusions about which is truly best. Personally I have had very good experiences with Rayco Stumpgrinders and Vermeer chippers (My own chipper is an Olathe which is no longer made) People I respect have spoken highly of Bandit,Woodsman and Morbark chippers-my own experince is -0-. Others I respect have raved about Carlton stumpers and certain Vermeer models. Again my experience doesn't include using either brand.

Vermeer for both.

Their grinders are second to none, andf their chippers do the same job as others twice their size with no gap between the feed wheels and drum. Look at Morbarks 18" chipper then look at Vermers right next to it. WAY more comapct and lighter by a couple THOUSAND pounds!

I am partial.......

Now you want to talk Horizontal feed grinders, Peterson all the way. Noone makes a machine that even compares, and yes I have seen most of the major ones used, or have used/fed them personally.
