Allmark ROCKS!

Nice saw
Nice cuts
Nice Tie in
Nice helmet cam
Great job

One time to use a saw at shoulder height is when craning - we tend to keep our faces together that way!

(PLEASE don't tell me it was a 'crown reduction' job!)

Great job, great stuff, great video.

What I liked to see was the cuts for the crane were spot on.

You cut the crane side first, then the back cut and the piece is taken away from you toward the crane ... very nice.

You even tape measured the lengths, why?

We cant ride the hook here which would really slow you down to get to the top.

Excellent vid, can you give an insight on how you did the helmet cam work, like the equip used, and where you had the camcorder.

great, GREAT camera work , nice job on the removal, excellent choice in music, I played it with the volume at 11, caus it's one more better then 10. rock on. /forum/images/graemlins/jamminz.gif

I taped the lengths for 2 reasons:1-to get pieces the correct length for lumber and2 -to stay with in crane capacity. I write the Pine weights by diameter per foot and carry it with me.
The helmet cam is from Helmet cam .com and is a 480 lines resolution. I have a hand held cam corde it plugs into which is in a camelback pack(good for hot days too.) the remote comes out alongside the hose for the water bladder and stops and starts the camera when I need to.

Had to rebook for Friday..........my crane company is still on a job for wed.............oh well, nice way to end a week!

Nice work, Mark....

A couple things though....the way I prefer to cut is one cut straight through....starting directly below where the slings are attached. Normally the cut will open up automatically. Makes for a clean end, and is a piece of cake 98% of the time.

Also, what size was the crane? Those picks look mighty small, for as close as you were.

We just finished a 5 tree fir log job...about 2200 bf, and 9 picks, four of them included the branches..so about 35,000 lb., with the 23 tonner.

Mark; Nice catch ..I never saw it and am always on the guys about it. Sorry for the improper hands. They must have slipped with all the sweat... /forum/images/graemlins/bangtard.gif /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Roger; I would have normally cut straight thru but Im using the helmet cam to show my new climber different cuts. I was more concerned with lenths than weight when making my cuts. I am using the lumber for an addition so w/in the weight limit I was cutting for end product.

Cool vid Mark. I thought I was the only 1 to use tape measures. Although I use it to calculate the weight.
In Chitown, rarely does a log go to the mill. Most go for pallet use or firewood. Again, sharp saw. I love it.
