Where did you go to school?

Bounced in and out of community college where I finally left with a degree in nothing. Have worked outside since I was 15, found tree work just a few years ago, and regret none of it! Most fun I've ever had! And I get paid to do it too!

Currently in Community College, otherwise, I learn everyday from the people around me, and I read. I'll get a degree in something practical, to further opportunities in the business world, eventually. It isn't important to me right now what I do with it, I'm happy with what I do and it pays the bills.

AS in computer science and math, stopped going in the middle of my bachlors degree because I didn't enjoy what I was doing. Hoping to go back in the spring to start a horticulture degree.

I'm currently a student at the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, majoring in Arboriculture and Community Forest Management, and I'm going to be graduating this May with my associate's degree. Planning on coming back to UMass-Amherst in the fall to continue on and get my bachelor's in Urban Forestry.

Bachelors in Urban Forestry, May 2008
University Wisconsin - Stevens Point

TMV mentioned Professor Hans Schnabel, who recently retired from the college. He was the Forest Pathology and Entomology Professor. And he was damn good at it. His replacement is a real honey though. All of 28 yrs old.

definitely learned alot of textbook stuff, little hands on training(only 1 intro to climbing class).
Took one class at Myerscough College in England(near manchester and blackpool) that was extremely insightful about the European tree viewpoint. They had an awesome Arb program that was 3 years long. The 1st was at campus and mostly field training. The 2nd was an internship anywhere in Europe or Australia. The 3rd was back at the campus and more of a formal class setting where they learned the bio and physio of trees. If I could have done it over again, thats the way Id go.
As far as it being worth it, I learned alot, but havent seen it reflected in my paycheck.

I've gone to MSU and East Mississippi CC. Took a couple years off but aside from public speaking, I'm eligible to graduate with an associates. I find out tomorrow if I'm taking public speaking starting tomorrow and graduate in May or taking it online and graduating in August.

In the meanwhile I'm working on mechanical engineering, but it'll be a while.

Most people here seem to think that ISA CA=college degree.

MSU's urban forestry program is pathetic.
