whats a good cheap pair of boots for spurs?

Carolina pole climbers were $150 they had a couple of small things come apart at first and I ranted about them badly on the buzz two years ago, but they've held up well since then. I might even get them resoled this year.

Good and cheap are two words that usually don't go together. I've found that cheap boots hurt feet and hurting feet make Jack a dull boy. I usually plan to spend $150 to $200 minimum.

Haix offers the trekker mountain as a factory second for 170.... that's a lot of boot for that kind of money. From my experience, "factory seconds" are nothing more than a blemish or two... we don't care about blemishes.

Also, the comfort core lokt (sp.) from Georgia boot has been a good all round boot for me... if you're going to be on hooks all day everyday, it might not be the answer.

Have had good luck with red wings...logger sole, steal toe, composite shank...can only get the model i wear from a red wing store though...an "authorized dealer" can't get them. $225 plus tax. I literally spend my life in them and get just over a year out them. I don't mess around when it comes to work apparell. Haven't bought sneakers in 15 years but no probs dumping coin in work wear... I can look up the model number if need be. I quit trying to be "frugal" on work boots once i found that a little extra now lasts that much longer down the road.

I agree with Craneguy1 - Been wearing Redwings for 26 years. Current model 616.
If you have 5 or more employees ,you can go to to a Redwing store and negotiate a referral discount. I received personalized 10% off coupons for our employees to use when purchasing .
