Ash (Fraxinus) definitely. Some of them.

Yo fellow geeks. I did not photo the tree, but know it's a small larix. However this tree has HUGE needles, 2-2.5" on average. They are thick as well (for larix) . Tree looked slightly contorted, but not enough for a contorted larch. Resources?
