what if spiderman was an arborist

Me and some friends had a conversation the other day about what the world of arboriculture would be like if spiderman was an arborist, I just wanted to know what you all would think about that

Don't be hating! It's a cool concept.

Spidey would be most excellent as a treeman!

Tarzan was a big influece on me I know. Spidey would make a good climber but he might be a bit to pensive to make for good company in the truck :)

Hulk's personality is what I'd like to have along. He would take the place of any loaders too :)

I would be impressed if spiderman found the time to practice arboriculture. There's just too much crime.

When's the last time you watched the monkey's at the zoo? My first trip to the zoo since I'd started climbing my friends practically had to drag me away. I probably could've watched by myself for hours. /forum/images/graemlins/monkeedance2.gif

Envious, jealous, amazed....

Ya know the 3-point contact rule/law, or whatever you call it? Well, someone described it to me in a neat way the reason for the 3 point rule. He's a math guy, not a climber.

3 points establish a plane (Any 3 dots on a piece of paper). You can use your knee, head, butt, (shoulder leaning on your climbing line gives the illusion of 2-point contact), anything to create a plane. Now a human can sense a surface. 2 points create only a straight line...a chance to swing. Great if your part of the high wire act in a circus.

Now spiderman has webs....more power to him. But I swear those monkeys are perfectly comfortable with 2-point contact. Like I said, I can just watch in awe for a while.

My brother has "monkey-boy" for me on his voice dial, and I never told him, but I find it flattering. Actually a guy back in Chicago called me "spiderman", but becuse I walked like him?? Its o.k. I like that too. /forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

some of us are more monkey than others i guess.. when i was a kid i used to climb everything, including my dad when he got home from work. he's called me monkey for years. still does actually, at 40. i have to say it's pretty sweet still. just about every time i call home. he can't bear to actually watch me climb (freaks him out i guess) but the nickname sticks.
