what do you guys use ?

It comes in small cans, big cans or even in drums...so depending on how much you use you can buy whatever is most interesting for you. (5, 25, 60 or 200 liters)

The plastic containers are recycled and have to go back to the dealer where I buy the full ones.

Shelf life garanteed for 10 years.

See the Aspen site or the Stihl dealer for the motomix site for more info.

I've been using TruFuel 40:1 for a few months now. I read an article on it
in TCI, they found that throttle response was better using it over regular pump gas mix. Due to no ethanol in it. It is also stabilized so its good for
putting in a saw you don't use much. Like my brother in laws 880 I've been babysitting.
It seems like the saws start better with it. Could be in my head.

Oh and just regular 15-40 in the old 6.9 international.

Hey Treestyler, sorry for the derail. I'd definitely be interested in the aspen premix fuel. We use regular fuel and Stihl mix. Nothing special in the International. But things will be changing in the near future!

started to do some research on this aspen alkylate fuel . alkylate petrol consist almost entirely of alkanes . the most important source of alkanes is natural gas and crude oil . alkanes are seperated in an oil refinery by fractional distillation and processed into many different products . alkylate replacing conventionel petrol does not decrease the total hydrocarbon emissions , but less hazardous hydrocarbons are emitted . cost 1.5 -3 times the cost of conventionel petrol . major advantages of alkylate petrol were found to be low proportions of benzene , alkybenzenes , and alkenes in the fuel . aspen 2 and aspen 4 contain virtually no harmful substances such as benzene , aromatic hydrocarbon , polyaromatic hydrocarbons , or olefins . ordinary petrol contains around one hundred substances including these harmful substances , but aspen alkylate petrol has around ten of these substances . all hydrocarbons emitted from the use of petrol are hazardous to human health and the enviroment but to a different extent for individual compounds . needless to say it may be better in many ways then conventionel petrol but it still is poison . just not as much as regular petrol . also the refining process of alkylate petrol also pollutes . there are many pros and cons to using the conventionel and non conventionel fuels . i guess only time will tell . peace !

...by the way we are the cleanest and most productive nation as it stands right now ,

[/ QUOTE ]

This just in, US big business started shipping thousands of jobs offshore to apparently more productive nations almost 30 years ago.

As for clean, I'll agree with you that there are clean places within the US, and in a handful of places the culture of environmental sensitivity is leading the way from the municipal level for bigger changes in the future. Cleanest?
USA
#1 Electricity consumer worldwide
#2 Coal consumer worldwide
#8 Commercial energy use worldwide (Canada #7)
#1 Oil consumer worldwide (2.5x greater than China as of '09)

Compare the populations of nations and those statistics are staggering.

People have found a strange cause in the rural traditionalist's message, one that is not very well thought out and threatens to bury those most vulnerable. The rural traditionalist's response to that kind of talk is not exactly Christian or American. I'd call it extreme.

As for the Aspen fuels, that's a huge development and I wish I could talk my employer into using the stuff. Hydrocarbon exposure to the operator is where there needs to be improvement for certain.

wake up ! its not that usa moved more jobs over seas to more productive nations . it is that sometimes businesses are forced to because of so much regulations and goverment interference here ( among other reasons ) . hey guys i am not against being safe and clean . i would just like to keep it within the private sector and out of goverment . quit looking for goverment for all the answers and start by making the example or inventions yourself . usa is the best for a reason it is not because of coincident ! also using aspen fuels you are still exposed to hydrocarbons , do the research . i think it is great that we are consumers here . that just shows how productive are country is . no need to hate . sounds like your thinking is what is extreme .

just wondering what you use / to help keep you chainsaws and equipment alive . besides good maintenence.

[/ QUOTE ]

Besides "good maintenance"? Not much. Just use Stihl's or Husqvarna's 50:1 mix and that's it. Never had a major problem with any of my Stihls dating back to the early 80's.
