What diameter hitch cord on 11.7 climbing line?

On the 11.7 Yale ropes... 10mm OP, 10mm EpiCord, 9mm EpiCord, 8mm EpiCord, 9mm ArbPro... they all work, but I like the 10mm Ocean Polyester the best. Distel hitch, these days.

(Actually, I like the stainless steel links, ala ZZ, the best.)
Commenting on Yale Luna and all the eye to eye you mentioned. I recently purchased 150' and 200' of Yale Luna. With that purchase I also picked up 9.3mm epicord,8mm OP, 10mm OP and a new 10mm Beeline. I had a 10mm epicord around also. One morning I went climbing to check out the new stuff. Trying out all these eye to eyes, I wound up sticking to the 10 mm Beeline with a Destel. Previous post rave about the epi, wile I do not find it as reliable as the 10mm Beeline and OP. I personally do not want to have to"break in" a hitch cord. That's me though! I agree with you about the Beeline and the Distel, that is my personal favorite.

...do not want to have to"break in" a hitch cord...

I think perhaps Beeline and Ocean Polyester, both of which have been around awhile, are hard to improve upon... but, some of the newer cords may have been developed to address the huge variety of ropes that have been coming on the market. I have found that with a couple of my ropes, the EpiCord works better than anything else. I'm not sure one cord can work perfectly on them all. My 10mm EpiCord has become a favorite, now that it is broken in. The 8mm EpiCord is killer nice as a lanyard adjuster.

I don't like having to baby a new motorcycle engine until it's broken in, either... but, sometimes the performance gains are worth a little hassle at the start. Give the other cords a chance, maybe play with them when you're bored... it seems like some of them just shine when they get a little use on them. Another one I didn't like at first, is the ArbPro 9mm cord. Until I tried it on my KM MAX 11mm rope. Works beautifully on that slick, 32-strand bastard. Even without any break in time.

Still, nice to grab a 10mm OP or Beeline cord and throw it on almost any rope 11.5mm to 13mm and have it work right away. Same with the Distel hitch... I can get others to work fine, but for me, none of them are as easy to get working as the Distel, regardless of the cord or rope. However, I've gotten a VT to work great, sometimes... but it's so picky! Anything changes, even a little bit, and I have to mess with it again. Now, I play with that stuff in my garage, when I'm bored. Not something I want to do when I get to a job!
