Before I ordered my spurs I made sure they would fit in the boxes!

This is Bobo, from the bigfoot hunting show on Discovery Channel called 'Finding Bigfoot' (notice the shirt he's wearing above, ha!). Ashlee and I met him down at the river outside Garberville. We all ended up going back to town, bellied up to the bar with Stormin' Normin all night. Bobo would tell me his bigfoot hunting stories, and of course I thought he was full of it. Once the show came out earlier this year, oh boy did I have a good laugh! Those locals took good care of us for whatever reason... and yes Ashlee and I are still a great tag team some 3 years later

You can't plan the miracles in life.

I'm half way through 'HIGH CLIMBERS AND TIMBER FALLERS' by GF Beranek. What a read eh?! We'll be going back to the redwoods in four of five weeks and boy did Beranek do a good job describing some of the must do's in the area. Anyway, I go in the hope of making contacts, putting up flyers, and yes eventually expanding to where the big trees still stand.

Just a little info... I picked up a 'contract climbing job' out of Auburn, CA today. Looks like a co-dominant Ponderosa Pine split and fell into an oak. Anyway, I put it at a 1/2 day, maybe 4 picks with a crane, chop chop. Looks like good video too! I figured $250 was fair and got the job

The job came from what sounds to be a great contact. They do forest clearing/ fire suppression for the state, I believe. Anyway, I figure a contract climber who's fully insured and has all the tools should bank in at least $500/day.

Ryan can you elaborate?

I've been through Humbolt several times, camped all around, just to check out the trees, and absolutely love it. The dream would be to expand out to the biggest of the big trees, seems like it's gonna take me some time though.

What do you mean by "it's a real cash economy?" I could only imagine how much money some of those trees are worth, to remove or trim but it seems like they are all protected or something. Anyway, just curious what your experience is in Humbolt County. Thanks
