What websites do you visit most often?

Treebuzz, HowardStern, and InsideLacrosse for me.

Hey Tom,

I go to the TCI forums but all I mostly see is really basic stuff and it surprises me.......like the Fly won't hold a blakes hitch! A blakes hitch? Seems like an insult to the Fly. Just my opinion.

I've got a friend who was talking about GPS "treasure hunting" just the other day. I'll pass those links along to him on the chance he's not already aware of them.

If he's done any caching at all, he probably knows GC.com, but terracaching is my preferred site these days. The difference is, you have to be sponsored to join (easy enough to do, but it scares off the impatient folk) and your sponsors approve any caches you hide (as opposed to a central administrator). There are "no rules" which means far fewer rules. When you find a cache you rate it; consistently bad caches will be booted from the system. What this all tends to do is create fewer caches of a higher quality (maybe that will change if the site gains popularity--I hope it will still be higher quality hides, but maybe more options will be out there for future TC'ers). There's also a point system where you earn more for both hiding and finding good caches (and for sponsoring those who do) but it's far too complex for me and I just watch it as a curiosity.

In short, GC is nice for those who want to rack up high numbers of finds. TC is good for people who want a nice outing that might only yield a one or two finds. I'm in it for the outdoor experience as much as anything. Driving up to a light pole at Wally World to log a film canister is not my idea of fun.
