Gordon’s is a good device, though it doesn’t allow slack to be tended as effortlessly as the positioner.
The grillon is not my favorite. It’s a little clunky, and the release portion can be engaged by the TM lower d’s. Also, it also has more friction when pulling out slack. If you like thinner lanyards, I’d say the isc rad is a better option, or the camp dryad. However, the positioner is compact, light, smooth, intuitive, beautiful, smart, great sense of humor...wait, sorry.
So... You of the opinion, Gordons isnt as effortless as the Art... The grillon takes some effort to pull out slack (not tend)..
I think that's my beef with the Grillon type devices, paying out can be a pain & even tending at times.. (but i have no experience with the grillon so i don't want to speak directly about it, just that style) Especially if there's any sap involved.. but that just goes without saying cuz they all kinda suck in that dept compared to one with none... but some are especially hard to function after. (Interesting note btw on triggering release, that one right there always makes the balloon knot pucker a fair bit)
When sap is involved, the one that outshines the Art in my opinion, is the Zillon.. it pretty much just marches on for me though that nasty shit, whereas the Art has gotten stuck on me on a few occasions with sappy 16 stand..
I will say however, the Zillon does not like small-errrr cordage, i recently found this out after trying 11mm km3 & reaffirmed it wasn't just me after speaking with @JeffGu & hearing of his similar experience with 11mm KM Max.. oddly enough, it rips on TriTech (which is supposed to be 11 but measures a fair bit bigger).
Say, have you any experience with Gordon's when sap is involved? Positive news, Negative news?
