What’s this after lightning strike last year

My friend’s oak. The canopy looked ok this year and you see where healing has begun. Nothing was done to the damaged bark but, in hindsight maybe it should have been stripped/tracing . Now it looks like a fungus and I haven’t checked for pest. Approach suggestions? I do occasional tree work when the opportunity arises. If I’m out of line, mods can just delete.

It appears to be Irpex lacteus.

It is a fungi that causes White rot, and is growing on tissues killed by the Lightning strike/Wound.
