Hey,
My girlfriend and I are planning a trip from L.A. to Portland for the ITCC in August. Our idea is to fly into L.A. for a day or two, make our way up to Kings Canyon (or Sequoi NP), then up to Yosemite (gotta see El Cap), then chill out in San Fran for a couple days and make our way up to Portland for 5 days (stop at Humbolt NP and Redwood NP along the way).
Any feedback would be awesome. Any recommendations on hostels, campsites, hotels, bars or restaurants? Anything we must to see? Anything we should skip?
We're planning on renting an economy car and staying in hostels and camping for the most part (can't do the mustang and hilton on a climber's salary), but we'll probably treat ourselves with a couple nights in a hotel or cabin.
I'm hoping 2 1/2 weeks is going to be long enough to do this. Any input would be well appreciated. Thanks.
