Sometimes a good Sunday recreational climb is found in the middle of the jungle. We set out this afternoon to find a nice work climb practice tree. After hiking though thorns and vines in search of said tree, we found what we were looking for.

Of course it did not come without a little fight!

A bit crazy, but I mowed my way into the tree.

After an hour of mowing, devining, and some pruning, we had it opened up so we could get off the ground.

Got Mrs.M and a couple of our kids up there for some practice. Good fun, great day !!

Cool story! It looks like a lot of work for a rec climb, but at least the next time you go, all you have to do is climb!

Holy carp!!!! Was that the SAME tree? The one that's all cleared out and the first picture you showed? Nice work!

That's so cool to just have land where there's trees you can "find" to climb!

And climb we did! We cleared two others just past the first and had a handful of great climbers out last weekend. I got to climb with the esteemed Silverback. Awesome! The guys practiced ARs getting ready for FLTCC. And we got fresh blood in the trees on Sunday when MrMW taught some neighborhood kids the ropes. Incredible! And I echo MrMWs statement...come join us AnyTime!
